Diana Towne was elected to the Rincon del Diablo Board of Directors in 1995 as the Division V representative of Rincon Water’s Improvement District “1” and Improvement District “E”. Director Towne chairs the Public Information & Intergovernmental Relations Committee, which oversees and fosters customer, community, intergovernmental, and media relations. She is also on the Engineering and Long Range Planning Committee. During her tenure, Ms. Towne has served as Treasurer, Vice-President and President of the Rincon Water Board. She was elected to the California Special District’s San Diego County Chapter board of directors in 2011 and serves as Secretary and editor of the Chapter’s quarterly newsletter. In addition, Ms. Towne served a two-year appointment on the Special District Advisory Committee to San Diego LAFCO.
Ms. Towne, a retired Legal Assistant of 35 years, served as Director and Fund Raising Chair for the Northern San Diego County Legal Secretaries Association as well as the organization’s newsletter editor. She has served as Vice-President and Fund Raising/Event Chair for the Escondido League of Women Voters; Board President of the Escondido Hills HOA as well as editor of its quarterly newsletter; and, was a Notary Public from 1985-2015.
Her community services include volunteering at Palomar Health in Escondido, and she is a member of the Assistance League® Inland North County, and the agency’s newsletter editor.
An Escondido resident since 1975, Ms. Towne and her fiancé own a home in NW Escondido. Their blended family consists of four children, seven grandchildren, and a Schnauzer named Mickey.
