The Division 4 seat of the Board of Directors of the Rincon del Diablo Municipal Water District (District) is currently vacant. We are looking to fill this position which serves the southwest portion of the District’s service area (west of Interstate 15) and includes the Harmony Grove Village. Our Board of Directors (Board) is seeking qualified candidates for a possible appointment to the Division 4 seat to fill the remaining term of office, which will end on December 31, 2026. To qualify, a candidate must live within Division 4 boundaries and make his/her interest known by submitting a completed application form to the District.
The time commitment for a Director includes one to two regular monthly meetings, any special meetings as determined by the Board, and several standing committee meetings each quarter. Opportunities for webinars and seminars related to the Water Industry are often available, although attendance is not mandatory. The Board of Directors meetings are typically held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the District office.
Each Director receives per diem compensation in the amount of $160 ($168 effective July 1, 2023) for each attended Board Meeting, or for each day’s service rendered as a Board Director, not to exceed a total of 10 days in any calendar month. The maximum a Director may earn in any month is $1,600 ($1,680 after July 1, 2023), even if he/she attends more than ten meetings. Rincon Water provides 100% paid health, dental, and vision insurance for each Board member. Rincon Water pays the employer and employee portions of Medicare taxes and pays 7.5% of earnings into an OASDI alternative plan per IRS Regulations. Board members receive no other paid Rincon Water benefits, are not included in the Rincon Water CalPERS retirement plan, and do not receive post-retirement benefits.

The selection process from the pool of candidates is scheduled to take place at a regular District Board meeting scheduled for June 13, 2023 at 5:00 pm.
