Each year, Rincon Water provides a field trip to one entire class of 4th grade students to visit the Diamond Valley Reservoir and Science Center located in Hemet, California. This all-day field trip allows the students to see the stored emergency water for San Diego County. For many of the students, this is the first time getting a chance to see this well-hidden gem!
The trip also includes a day full of activities exploring the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s Western Science Center. Some of the fun activities at the Science Center include further exploring:
- Water science
- Water conveyance
- Water conservation
- Water cycle and more!
There is only one field trip available each year. There is no formal application to apply. Teachers, if you are interested in the field trip, which must take place in May 2021, please email conservation@rinconwater.org. Trip availability is based on first-come-first- served. You must be a 4th grade teacher from Bernardo, North Broadway, Miller, Reidy Creek, or Rock Springs Elementary Schools to be eligible.
