Several of our customers reported receiving a phone call saying that they must pay their water bill immediately over the phone or their water will be disconnected within two hours. A water district name is not identified.
During the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, scammers have been trying to take advantage of consumers through misinformation and scare tactics. Protect your money and your identity by not sharing personal information like your bank account number, credit card number, social security number, or date of birth during a phone call you did not initiate.
Please be assured that Rincon Water will NEVER:
- Ask you for your credit card number over the phone
- Interrupt your water service due to lack of payment during the COVID-19 pandemic (under the Governor’s Executive Order N-42-20)
