Water agencies throughout the state are required by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) to prepare an Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) every five years to verify that adequate water supplies are available to meet existing and future water demands. The District’s 2020 UWMP update is currently under development and must be submitted to DWR by July 1, 2021. The 2020 UWMP demonstrates water supply reliability over the next 25 years in conjunction with regional plans developed by the San Diego County Water Authority and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
Drafts of the documents will be available for public review and comment on this website between May 10 – May 24, 2021.
Rincon welcomes public input as it prepares its 2020 UWMP update. If you wish to provide public comment, which will be read aloud during the public hearing, please email firstname.lastname@example.org before May 24, 2021, or you can comment telephonically during the public hearing on May 25, 2021 at 5:00 pm. Comments are limited to no more than three minutes.
The public hearing will discuss the three linked items below:
- 2020 UWMP
- 2020 Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP)
- Addendum to 2015 UWMP to address Delta Reliance
Upon conclusion of the public hearing, the District Board may revise, change, or modify the draft 2020 UWMP, WSCP, and Addendum to the 2015 UWMP. The 2020 UWMP, WSCP, and the Addendum to the 2015 UWMP are scheduled to be adopted in June 2021.
